Overview Reporting to the Racecourse Manager, this permanent full‑time role is responsible for maintaining the course proper, training tracks, and grounds at one of our racecourses, ensuring they are always presented in the best possible condition. This position plays a vital role in the success of our carnival race days and in creating a memorable experience for all who attend. Location & Availability 3 Groundsperson Rosehill Gardens 1 Groundsperson Warwick Farm Responsibilities Hand‑on upkeep and care of racetracks. Undertake general maintenance work including labouring, cleaning, track work, gardens and maintenance instructions. Operate plant equipment such as tractors, mowers, front‑end loader forklift, power sweepers, power harrows, brush cutters, hedgers, push mowers and general spray operations. Conduct routine maintenance of turf, synthetic, artificial and other surfaces. Work hours on non‑race days: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm. Race day vs non‑race day roster: during a race week work Tue‑Sat; when it’s not a race week work Mon‑Fri. Qualifications & Experience Demonstrated experience in a similar role; preferred but not required, turf management preferred. General operational and mechanical maintenance skills. Appropriate licences to operate specialist machinery such as manual vehicle, front‑end loader and forklifts preferred but not required. Desirable experience operating plant and equipment including Bobcat, Grader and Excavator. Sound knowledge and practical experience of handling and spraying chemicals. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills. Enjoy working outdoors. Can‑do attitude.
