Job Overview We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. As a Customer Service Assistant, you will be working in a fast‑paced retail environment where no day is the same. You will play an important role in the day‑to‑day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on‑the‑job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop. Responsibilities Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, giving great natural service. Encourage customers to give feedback on their shopping trip through the ‘have your say’ survey. Work across all areas of the store including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to ensure tasks are completed to meet the needs of our customers. Practice the training received to ensure safe work practices. Participate in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere. Be knowledgeable about the store’s performance, understand your role in driving profit. Live the company values, make everyone feel welcome and always follow the policies. Clock in and out at the start and end of your shift to ensure accurate pay. Keep yourself, colleagues and customers safe by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment where required. Follow the ‘think 25’ policy when serving age‑restricted products to all customers. Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self‑service checkouts, explaining actions to customers. Work in a clean, tidy and organised manner, keeping aisles clear of congestion. Assume shift leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Shift Leader or Store Manager as needed. Continue training to keep yourself, others and the store safe and compliant with legal obligations. If the store has a Post Office Local, perform day‑to‑day post office operations and pass a Post Office Financial and criminal conviction background check.
