Accessible Filmmaking Workshop Leader

We’re looking for passionate and talented Workshop Leaders to lead our 2026 Accessible Filmmaking Program in Melbourne. You'll be planning and delivering filmmaking workshops that guide participants through every stage of the creative process. You'll work within our Program Framework to create meaningful learning experiences that build both technical skills and personal confidence. We are also looking for back-up staff to cover shifts in this region. Backup staff are required to invoice and provide PL insurance. If you are interested please indicate this on your application. Days of Employment Workshops are on Saturdays from 1.15pm-4.45pm and will start in late January 2026. The year is broken into 4 blocks, with breaks. Our full year program runs for 40 weeks in total including one 10 hour filming day. You are required to complete preparation work during the week and upload workshop slides by 5pm each Wednesday. You’re expected to work on average 6 hours per week, with email correspondence included as part of this. Key Responsibilities Plan and implement 40 x 3 hour Filmmaking workshops, guided by Bus Stop Films’ Program Framework Upload BSF-branded workshop slides into the portal by COB Wednesday for each week the program is delivered Prepare a year plan and 4 x block (term) plans Arrive 15 minutes before the workshop and stay back 15 minutes after for a debrief Set up/reset room and equipment for workshops Request and/or manage guest workshop leaders, working with them to plan your collaborative workshops Engage and encourage participants to participate in the workshops and filming day Engage support staff in workshops and direct according to the needs of the group Identify resources and requirements for workshops Identify opportunities for program excursions with the Program Delivery Manager for your region Work with the COO and Head of Screen to plan the production of the Program's short film project Complete an inclusive filmmaking project with your program and within the approved budget and guidelines Attend production meetings and support in the delivery of the film project Attend and lead your participants on filming day Attend end-of-term debrief meetings, induction sessions, online info sessions and any other ad hoc meetings that may arise, which will be organised to consider your time schedule Maintain timely email communication with your Program Delivery Manager in order to facilitate the smooth delivery of the program each week Perform ad hoc administrative tasks as they arise Flag any upcoming sick or holiday leave with as much notice as possible Maintain a valid, up-to-date Working with Children Check and recent Police Check for the duration of your employment with Bus Stop Films, and provide us with updated details/scans upon renewal Selection Criteria Experience in filmmaking and film education Strong workshop facilitation and group management skills Ability to work with diverse participants and adapt teaching methods accordingly Excellent organisational skills Exceptional communication skills with patience and empathy Collaborative approach and ability to work effectively with different stakeholders Clearances needed Valid Working with Children Check Recent Police Check First Aid (preferable but not required) Apply Now We're actively looking so apply ASAP.
