Lead Data Engineer A high‑growth scale‑up investing heavily in building a best‑in‑class data capability. We’re looking for a Lead Data Engineer to take ownership of our next‑generation data platform. Base pay range : A$170,000.00/yr – A$210,000.00/yr Location : Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Seniority level : Mid‑Senior level Employment type : Full‑time Job function : Information Technology The Role You’ll lead the design and build of a modern data ecosystem across Azure and Microsoft Fabric, driving the transition from ad‑hoc processes to a fully scalable lakehouse environment. You’ll stay hands‑on with engineering while mentoring others and setting the technical direction for the team. Design and implement a modern data architecture using Azure and Fabric Develop and optimise data pipelines using Python, PySpark and SQL Introduce best‑practice CI/CD, version control and data quality frameworks Collaborate with business and product teams to turn data into actionable insight Lead, mentor and grow a small data engineering team What You’ll Bring Strong technical experience across Azure, Fabric or Databricks Deep understanding of modern data architecture and modelling Proven ability to lead and mentor engineers A passion for building reliable, scalable data platforms from the ground up Why Join You’ll be part of a forward‑thinking business where data sits at the heart of every decision.
