Parks Presentation Team Leader

Team Leader - Parks Presentation (Horticulture) Lead people. Grow culture. Shape Banyule's green spaces. Responsibilities Set tone for a positive, supportive, high‑performing culture; coach staff, develop emerging leaders, and create an environment where people feel valued, motivated, and proud of their work. Guide horticulture operations, nursery production, and depot stores, with impact visible across all parks and gardens. Ensure parks, gardens, and open spaces are maintained to a high standard; supervise gardening and weed‑control teams, oversee nursery operations, coordinate contractors, and manage fleet and equipment; provide technical advice and operational support to the Parks Presentation Coordinator and department manager, and drive improvements through training, accurate record keeping, and better processes and technology. Blend outdoor work, operational leadership, and project delivery; work in a supportive organisation with access to Council's Leadership Network and genuine opportunities to progress your leadership pathway. Qualifications & Experience Enjoys planning and delivery, can design and refresh garden spaces, choose resilient plant palettes, and manage seasonal planting and uplift projects. Organises work programmes, sequences tasks, and keeps your team focused and safe. Has horticultural expertise and can grow capability in the people around you. Possesses a Diploma‑level qualification in horticulture, experience supervising teams, and confidence in project management. Communicates well, stays organised, and wants to make a visible contribution to the community. Pre-Employment Requirements Drivers licence. Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC). Functional Capacity Assessment. First aid/CPR certificate. Benefits Salary $98,255.03‑$106,820.88 per annum plus super. A permanent full‑time role, working hours 7:00am to 3:56pm (Daylight savings 6:30am to 3:26pm) with a fortnightly RDO. 26 weeks of paid parental leave for primary carers; 4 weeks for partners.
