a rare opportunity to join one of Australia's leading research vessels working on the Great Barrier Reef. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Master Class 4 to take on the role as master on our 24m vessel. This is a very busy vessel with extensive cruising up and down the Great Barrier Reef and the Coral Sea. The successful applicant must have good knowledge in navigating and anchoring around reefs. Extensive reef experience is required for this position. The position is a fly‑in fly‑out role out of Townsville, with swing lengths around 4 weeks. This role has the potential to be a shared role, as we have another relief master that can cover swings to allow for a very flexible roster with the option of more time off. To be successful in this role you must be reliable, have an easy‑going nature and be able to work well in a team environment. You will spend a lot of time at sea with up to eight scientists and four crew (including a chef) all working together to achieve scientific objectives. Qualifications Master Class 4 STCW C.O.S.T.
