The AME Group is a global data analytics and research company. We provide technical expertise and research analytics on renewables, energy transition, carbon emissions and for the energy, material and infrastructure sectors. AME has a flat management structure and encourages engagement across our entire business. This is a senior role as a spokesperson for AME. As a Commodity Specialist and expert you should have deep and comprehensive global knowledge in either steel, coal or iron ore. The role is to promote AME's position as a research house with a strong focus on Australia, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, UK and US. The role requires travel, mostly in South East Asia, with the ability to present to conferences on your area of specialisation. The role will suit someone who enjoys working in a professional services firm. It would help to have long experience in a similar role in mineral economics, with a mineral economics firm, engineering consultancy, producer or banking. We offer a high levels of autonomy, working with the senior management team in a comfortable environment. It may suit a very senior commodity expert who could work 3 days a week. What will the role look like? Deliver exceptional data, analysis, and forecasts to support clients in the mining and metals industry. You would be supported by 2 analysts. Ensure the highest standards of quality for data, charts, and written content, continuously adapting to meet market demands and providing timely insights on significant market events. Conduct comprehensive analyses and produce detailed reports on a regular basis. Collaborate with analysts to develop and maintain advanced models for supply, demand, pricing, and production costs. Engage in high-level information exchanges with knowledgeable customers and market participants. About You Naturally, you must have good analytical and communication skills, both oral and written. You should be extremely interested in the energy transition and have an appreciation of mining, metals, economics and technology. Qualifications and Skills An experienced Commodity Analyst with strong communication and presentation skills. Bachelor’s degree in mineral economics, engineering, economics or a related quantitative discipline. Advanced written and verbal English skills, with strong presentation abilities. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently with clients and industry stakeholders. Proven track record of delivering innovative market analysis and commentary. Extensive experience and comfort in financial modelling. Strong interest in economic policy and its implications for the economy. Because we need to build collaboration with our various teams, this role will ask for a full-time in-office work requirement, in Sydney CBD. There may be some work place flexibility depending on our work schedule. More about AME We are a team of engineers, economists, scientists, financial experts and programmers. We collect technical papers, research production and financial data, undertake site visits, distribute surveys and build data banks. This is used to understand and build industry and plant engineering models and catalogue carbon emission data.
