Mechanical Fitter Weir Minerals Wingfield SA Workshop & Field Purpose of Role We are seeking a qualified Mechanical Fitter with rebuild / overhaul experience across multiple styles of pumps and valves. You will be responsible for the strip down of pumps from drawings and manuals, be able to carry out measuring and reassembly tasks, including balancing, calculating tolerances, pressure testing and completing final inspection reports. The work will involve both workshop based and field service work in Wingfield and Whyalla, working also on Weir customers sites for shutdowns and maintenance as scheduled. Work hours in workshop Mon- Fri 6.54am – 3.00pm (7.6hr days) Shutdown & Site work is approx. 3-5 days per month Allowances are paid for travel and site work Key Responsibilities Completing repairs on critical equipment, including strip and assembly, assessment and reporting and machine maintenance. Carry out all tasks in accordance with the Service Centre Quality Manual. Document wear, corrosion and faults with photos to complete condition assessments. Make recommendations for improvements to current products, services and procedures.
