Empowering Aboriginal Healthcare: Aboriginal Liaison Officer Make a real difference in the lives of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their communities. As an Aboriginal Hospital Liaison Officer, you'll advocate for culturally safe healthcare and ensure the unique needs of Aboriginal patients are respected and met. About the role: Provide cultural support and advocacy for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and families Facilitate communication between healthcare teams and community members Deliver cultural awareness education to clinical and administrative staff Develop and maintain relationships with local Aboriginal organisations and community groups Support discharge planning and care coordination for Aboriginal patients About you: Demonstrated ability to work in a culturally sensitive and accountable manner with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, with Aboriginal people, non-Aboriginal people, health workers and other organisations Strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and community issues Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience in advocacy or community liaison roles preferred This position has been identified as exempt in accordance with Sections 30(1), 52(1) and 103 (1) of the Equal Opportunity Act 1984 (SA); only applicants of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent may apply.
