Location: Boorloo (Highgate, Perth WA) Employment Type: Full Time (1.0 FTE) Employment Category: Maximum Term until 30 June 2027 Remuneration: $96,479.76 - $115,775.71 per annum pro rata + superannuation + salary sacrifice + mobile phone / allowance The Cancer Liaison Officer is responsible for supporting Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisations (ACCHOs) through the Improving First Nations Cancer Program. This role focuses on working with state and territory governments to influence policy and approaches specific to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Reporting to the Public Health Manager, the position is responsible for developing culturally safe resources, coordinating, co‑designing and delivering holistic and culturally safe and responsive cancer programs across the cancer journey, and fostering collaboration across health sectors. To view the full position description and selection criteria, click here or visit About You We're looking for someone with the following skills and experience: Knowledge and an understanding of the issues affecting the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities throughout WA. Demonstrated knowledge of co-design and co‑decision‑making principles. Demonstrated experience advocating for the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community‑controlled health sector. Highly developed interpersonal skills, and the ability to proactively establish and sustain effective stakeholder relationships. Demonstrated ability to uphold the principles of cultural safety including an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Ideally, in addition to the above, we are looking for someone who identifies as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander and is acknowledged as such by their community. Please note: In addition to the above skills and experience, the successful candidate will require an unrestricted WA “C” Class Driver’s Licence, and be required to submit a National Police Clearance (dated within 3 months) prior to appointment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
