Reporting directly to the Finance Controller , the Senior Financial Accountant will take ownership of key financial processes, systems integrity and compliance within AECI Mining’s Australian business. This role is central to maintaining financial accuracy, supporting operations teams, and enhancing our reporting capability. You will be responsible for: Management Reporting, KPI reporting and variance analysis to support site and operational performance Statutory Reporting for and compliance for the Australian and PNG entities Internal control governance and policy compliance Asset and tax register maintenance General ledger reconciliations and oversight of vendor and cashbook payments Master data maintenance and governance in SAP Assistance with Budgeting, forecasting and development of financial models Month‑end close and financial reporting Supporting internal and external audits Contributing to continuous improvement and key business projects across Finance and Operations Qualifications & Experience Chartered Accountant (CA) or CPA accreditation (essential) Minimum 5 years post‑qualification experience, ideally within mining, manufacturing or industrial sectors Strong understanding of statutory, tax and management accounting requirements Solid grasp of business processes within manufacturing or trading environments Advanced MS Office capability, particularly Excel Experience with SAP ECC6 will be highly regarded Skills & Personal Qualities Strong analytical capability, with exceptional attention to detail Confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively across operational, technical and commercial teams Highly organised, proactive and able to manage multiple competing deadlines Committed to continuous improvement, professionalism and safety Willingness to travel domestically and internationally when required What You Bring to AECI Mining Ability to build strong, respectful stakeholder relationships at all levels Strategic and conceptual thinking with strong problem‑solving capability Discipline in budgeting, financial control and high‑volume workload management A proactive approach that supports AECI Mining’s culture of excellence, safety and innovation Why AECI Mining?
