Join to apply for the Commercial Officer (Defence) role at Bendigo Advertiser Commercial Officer, Level 2, Defence Commercial Support, Williamtown, NSW Overview We’re recruiting two permanent Commercial Officer L2s for a Defence client based at Williamtown, NSW. These positions are strictly Defence focused; strong Defence commercial, contracts, and procurement experience is mandatory. The role requires an active NV1 security clearance; only NV1 cleared candidates will be considered. Key Responsibilities Provide commercial advice, assistance, and services to the Commercial Manager and Branch Executive across Commonwealth procurement policy, procedures, and processes. Support the development of strategic and commercially sensitive procurement documentation, including templates, schedules, correspondence, reports, submissions, plans, strategies, risk and performance reviews, and contract change proposals. Support procurement planning and develop commercial documentation such as tender documents, Section 23s, Endorsement to Proceed, Decision Briefs, and contract formation documentation. Assist in the development, delivery, and maintenance of contract management plans, performance frameworks, compliance tools, and other contract administration processes. Provide contract management and administration including contract phase‑in, phase‑out, documentation updates, contract change proposals, risk identification and mitigation, stakeholder communication, performance reviews, audits, and reports. Assist in conducting training for Defence personnel in relation to procurement methodologies, contracting options, and tender development. Essential Requirements Active NV1 security clearance is essential; only NV1 cleared candidates will be considered. Defence experience is essential; this role requires proven Defence commercial, contract, and procurement experience. Must have ASDEFCON experience, below the line or above the line. Minimum 5 years’ experience in Defence projects or Defence commercial, contract roles. Strong analytical skills and commercial acumen. Must be based in the Newcastle, Williamtown region, with the ability to work on site in Williamtown.
