An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly experienced Environmental Consultant to join our internationally recognised Environmental Approvals, Closure & Management team based in Newcastle. The team provides a wide range of project management, environmental impact assessment, REF’s, post‑consent environmental management services such as Environmental Audits & Management Plans and works alongside other specialist teams in SLR to deliver a complete environmental service to clients across a range of sectors. Articulate, motivated and reliable, you will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in consulting, government or industry. You will enjoy undertaking project work, fieldwork, environmental impact assessments & audits throughout the region. You will also collaborate on projects and initiatives with the national EAC&M Group (circa 70 staff across 10 offices) and other teams within our multi‑disciplinary business. Responsibilities Provide advice regarding best practice environmental impact assessment and management principles to clients and internal SLR team members. Assist with project management and run your own projects on interesting environmental projects across multiple industries. Conduct audits & REF’s and deliver clear, precise, high‑quality reports. Work within and lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects across a range of sectors. Perform fieldwork on exciting projects and client secondment opportunities. Advise and deliver Management Plans. Experience & Qualifications A degree in Environmental Science, Town Planning, Environmental Engineering or a related field. Minimum 4 years’ experience in environmental consulting. Impact assessment expertise. Experience and competence in the field as well as the office. Demonstrated knowledge of NSW & Commonwealth environmental legislation, policies, standards and guidelines. Experience in linear infrastructure, renewables, power and/or agribusiness sectors is highly regarded. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
