They supply high quality bus and coach seats for Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and other major Australia cities and their philosophy is personal involvement, continuous improvement and outstanding service.Due to ongoing growth and opportunities, we are now looking for a Sales Manager to meet and exceed category targets through expertise, innovation, and professional relationships in order to acquire new business and maintain existing customer base. The Sales Manager will be accountable for all states and New Zealand with the exception of Queensland, which the MD will look after initially. The opportunity for future advancement of the role comes from the candidate’s ability to grow the business (50% account management, 50% new BD), allowing us to take on additional sales resources for which they would have the opportunity to lead nationally, in effect become the National Sales Manager. Of course, travel will be a component of the role as well. The travel approx. 3 days every second week or so depending on engagement strategy.The role identifies new business opportunities across the network and drives business growth across a scope of industries and regions. Customer interaction and negotiation is extensive and must cross multiple levels of influencers and decision makers, such as chassis suppliers, industry associations, body/vessel builders, fleet operators and fleet owners.You will have a high degree of autonomy with the intent to develop and build market knowledge to help guide business forecasting and product opportunities. You don’t need to know seats, they happily teach that.The culture is very good and the MD prefers someone to make a decision and then ask for permission over not making the decisions. They need an autonomous person that is proactive and can adapt to possible new channels like marine, ferries and other channels that are now also being developed as their strength is that it can customise any seat for any application.Based in Melbourne or surrounds and reporting to the Managing Director in Brisbane,

your responsibilities are to:* Develop and maintain comprehensive knowledge of specific market/industry categories to identify and develop a pipeline of potential customers aligned with strategic and operational priorities.* Build and maintain effective working relationships with existing customers and those on the pipeline to facilitate development and execution of tailored engagement plans for each customer.* Analyse available data to provide insights about existing and potential customers and to aid decision making processes.* Monitor potential losses, new tenders, and changes to key personnel in the engagement network to identify and implement appropriate actions.* Manage the transition of a customer from solutions proposition to operational execution by liaising with and maintaining strong relations with Project and Operational Managers* Develop a professional skillset to ensure detail technical understanding of customer requirements, solution requirements and compliance.* Use appropriate systems and tools to deliver all required reports* Act as a trusted advisor by being highly consultative and collaborative.Skills, qualifications and experience* Experience in new business development in a highly competitive sector.* Proven ability to develop effective relationships across multiple levels of customer organisations and market influencers and contributors.* Sales management experience in related industry* Problem solving and issue resolution.* Strong interpersonal skillsAdvantageous:* Delivering results – drives and delivers performance against set goals.* Analytical thinking and trend analysis – understanding the operating environment, making decisions and providing guidance based on trends and market analysis.* Ability to set clear objectives and drive personal performance.* Customer focus - understanding the customers and influences, constant focus on improving customer experience and making decisions based on added value for the customer and other relevant stakeholders.An attractive salary package with a generous base, car allowance, super and bonus is available for high calibre candidates.Report this job advert
