About the role Lead and coordinate daily operations across Immunology, Serology and Flow Cytometry, ensuring smooth workflow, high performance and strong collaboration with other pathology sections. Oversee HR, budgeting and operational functions while maintaining high-quality laboratory instrumentation performance, including maintenance, calibration and quality control. Drive quality assurance, continuous improvement and timely, accurate reporting of complex results in partnership with Immunopathologists. Maintain and update laboratory procedures, manage training and ongoing development for staff, and represent the section at internal and external scientific meetings. Manage service issues, support testing when required, evaluate new technologies, and ensure effective stock and supplier management to keep operations running efficiently. About you Degree-qualified scientist (Science/Biomedical Science or equivalent), with strong technical capability across Immunology, Serology and Flow Cytometry. Experienced laboratory leader with proven skills in operations, administration, staff coordination and maintaining high-quality service delivery. Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills—including report writing, policy interpretation, and the ability to engage effectively with clinicians, patients and laboratory teams. Deep understanding of accreditation frameworks, quality systems, WHS and privacy requirements within a pathology environment. Advanced user of Pathology Laboratory Information Systems, with hands‑on expertise in analytical equipment operation, troubleshooting and maintenance. Why work at St Vincent’s?
