About the role Matilda 159 Domain is seeking an exceptional Commis Chef-Chef de Partie to join our dynamic team in our vibrant restaurant located in the heart of South Yarra, VIC 3141. This full‑time role is an exciting opportunity to take your culinary skills to the next level and contribute to the success of our highly regarded establishment. What you'll be doing Assist the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the preparation and production of high‑quality dishes, ensuring consistency and adherence to recipes and presentation standards. Actively participate in the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and maintaining a clean and organised work environment. Contribute to the development and refinement of new menu items, drawing on your creativity and expertise. Collaborate with the team to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and the overall dining experience. Comply with all food safety and health regulations, ensuring the highest standards of hygiene and food handling. What we're looking for Proven experience as a Commis Chef or Chef de Partie in a high‑quality, fast‑paced restaurant environment. Strong working knowledge of various cooking techniques and the ability to prepare a wide range of dishes. Excellent time management and multitasking skills, with the ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure. A passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and creating visually appealing, flavourful dishes. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic kitchen environment. A relevant culinary qualification or certification is preferred, but not essential.
