Community Relations and Health Promotion Coordinator Aboriginal Medical Service Co-operative Redfern – Redfern NSW The Aboriginal Medical Service Redfern (AMS) was established in 1971 and was the first Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation (ACCHO) in Australia. We are a multi‑disciplinary health care facility with Medical, Chronic Care, Drug & Alcohol, Mental Health, Dental and Public Health units. We work together to provide a high level of patient care whilst servicing our local community needs. About the role We have an exciting opportunity for a new Community Relations and Health Promotion Coordinator to join AMS Redfern. Responsibilities Operational management of the Public Health Unit ensuring the successful delivery of programs and services. Developing and implementing culturally appropriate public health programs, health promotion events, presentations, resources and workshops. Managing and supporting our Aboriginal Health Worker Trainees. Contribute to the development of policies and protocols. Qualifications and Experience Demonstrated ability to develop, implement and evaluate health promotion activities. Demonstrated Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness and knowledge. Demonstrated experience managing, delivering or coordinating activities and services in the community. Demonstrated experience working across a broad range of areas including domestic violence, home and community health/welfare, drug, alcohol and mental health, child welfare and aged care. Experience recruiting, managing and developing staff. Strong verbal and written communication skills and experience building strong working relationships. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and ability to learn new systems. This Permanent Fulltime position (37.5 hours per week) includes employee benefits such as salary packaging and ongoing education opportunities. This is an identified position.
