Community Visit Volunteer (Creative Ideas/Engineering Interest) HammondCare A Social Visits Volunteer who can make a meaningful difference - One visit at a time Are you someone who loves being creative, perhaps with an interest in tinkering or projects, who enjoys a good chat? We’re looking for a kind-hearted volunteer to visit an elderly gentleman who enjoys engineering and being creative, who is feeling a bit lonely. Your time and company could make a world of difference. A friendly visit, a shared story, or a chat over a cuppa could truly lift his spirits. Your impact Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated. HammondCare is a provider of The Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme funded by the Australian Government and is established to promote links between elderly people and volunteers in their local community. Category : Seniors & Aged Care Commitment : Regular - more than 6 months Type Of Work : Companionship & Social Support, Seniors & Aged Care Time Required : We’d be happy to discuss a suitable time during the week for a one hour visit between 9am and 5 pm Monday to Sunday, visits could be weekly to fortnightly depending on your availability. Training : Training is provided as well as ongoing support by a local Volunteer Coordinator. We offer an extensive online and face-to-face training program so you will be well equipped as a volunteer.
