Reporting to the Deans of Students and the Head of Secondary School, this role provides an essential service within the School, contributing proactively to students' ongoing development in learning and wellbeing. As a School Counsellor, you will identify, support, and refer students who are experiencing mental health challenges or related school and family issues. You will work closely with teaching staff to manage student needs and provide guidance to parents, ensuring a collaborative approach to student success. Key responsibilities include: Delivering a professional, ethical, and evidence‑based counselling service for students and families. Supporting students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioural growth. Promoting resilience and wellbeing through preventative programmes and skill‑building strategies. Providing grief and loss counselling and crisis support when required. Collaborating with educators, parents, carers, and external agencies to implement effective interventions. Facilitating wellbeing programmes such as anxiety prevention and social skills development. Maintaining accurate records and contributing to staff professional development.
