We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Engineering Team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-level technical expertise, supporting the Sales Team, and mentoring junior engineers. This senior role is ideal for a solutions-focused engineer who thrives on technical variety, customer interaction, and driving engineering standards across multiple projects. About the Role Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Senior Mechanical Engineer will: Provide high-level technical and engineering support for Kinder products and customised solutions Produce compliant CAD drawings, technical specifications, engineering calculations, and site reports Lead formal design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering governance and standards Support product development initiatives and complex technical applications Act as a senior technical representative in customer meetings, site visits, and investigations Supervise, mentor and develop junior engineers and drafters Maintain engineering documentation, resources, and structured document control Represent Kinder professionally and uphold our commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement You will also act in the Engineering Manager’s capacity when required. About You You will bring both deep technical capability and strong communication skills, along with the ability to guide a small engineering team. Qualifications & Experience Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline) Minimum 5 years’ experience in a mechanical engineering role with senior responsibilities Strong capability in drafting, design, calculations, compliance, and engineering documentation Experience leading or coordinating multiple engineering projects Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skillsProficiency with engineering software and Microsoft Office Current Victorian Driver’s Licence Professional registration or eligibility is highly regarded Skills & Attributes Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy Ability to work independently with minimal supervision Collaborative, proactive, and customer‑focused approach Commercial awareness and sound judgement in engineering decision‑making Commitment to continuous improvement, coaching, and knowledge sharing Why Join Kinder Australia?
