Fleet Maintenance Manager

Aerial Access is seeking an experienced and strategic Fleet Maintenance Manager to oversee the performance and operations of our workshops across Victoria and Tasmania. This pivotal leadership role is responsible for ensuring our fleet of trucks, elevated work platforms (EWPs), and specialised plant equipment are maintained to the highest standards of safety, reliability, and efficiency. The position will be based in Bayswater, Victoria, with regular travel to our Bridgewater, Tasmania workshop to manage and support operations. The role: This is a key leadership position reporting to the National Maintenance Manager . The successful candidate will lead and mentor a team of approximately 12-15 skilled technicians , providing guidance, training, and support to enhance capability and drive high performance across all workshop operations. You will oversee all activities related to the repair and maintenance of our fleet of vehicles, elevated work platforms, and specialised machinery. This role will see you assist in the development and improvement of the maintenance program, making sure Active Tree Services comply with relevant statutory regulations and that our fleet and heavy equipment is available, dependable, and always safe. Additionally, you will manage maintenance budgets and costings, monitor fleet utilisation, maintain accurate inventory records, and provide data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement. About you: Minimum of 5–7 years’ experience in a similar fleet management role, with proven experience leading a team of mechanics. Excellent knowledge and understanding of computerised maintenance management systems. Extensive aptitude and experience with automotive and/or equipment maintenance and repairs. Excellent and effective communication and interpersonal skills. Good analytical capabilities with experience using Excel. Ability to influence and motivate team members to ensure they are reaching their full potential. A Certificate III or above in a related trade or management would be advantageous.
