The role contributes to the overall performance of the fleet by helping to maintain high service standards, support safety outcomes, and ensure fleet readiness for daily operations. This position plays a key role in upholding WHS, Chain of Responsibility (COR), NHVR, and Main Roads WA obligations by ensuring maintenance activities are documented, reported, and carried out to required standards, while supporting vendor management, and inventory coordination. Responsibilities: Oversee the servicing, repairs, inspections, and roadworthiness of all fleet assets (prime movers, trailers, refrigerated units) Through a structured maintenance program ensure fleet availability meets daily operational needs and strategic planning requirements. Support the implementation of KPIs for repair quality, servicing standards, and contractor responsiveness. Assist the State Manager or HO team in monitoring contractor agreements, maintaining compliance documentation, and conducting performance reviews. Ensure full compliance with Chain of Responsibility (COR), NHVAS, Main Roads WA, and all applicable WHS and transport safety regulations. Lead internal audits and prepare for external compliance inspections and accreditations. Support the rollout of fleet improvement initiatives, such as new vehicle technologies, safety systems, or telematics installations. Assist in preparing operational reports and briefings for senior management on fleet status, risks, and improvement opportunities. HR or HC driver’s license (or willingness to obtain). Evidence of completed training in Chain of Responsibility (COR) and Fatigue Management (Basic/Advanced). Supervisory or frontline management training (e.g. Certificate IV in Leadership & Management). First Aid Certificate. Familiarity with NHVAS, PBS, or EPA environmental certifications. Minimum 5 year’s experience in heavy vehicle or fleet maintenance, including at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or coordinator role.
