About the Role At TRACTION, we empower young people to discover and develop their potential through hands‑on learning and mentoring. We are seeking an exceptional Head of Engagement and Policy to lead TRACTION’s policy, , and influencing agenda, driving systemic change that improves outcomes for young people. This pivotal leadership role combines strategic policy direction, stakeholder engagement, and partnership development to strengthen our organisation’s impact, sustainability, and voice in the sector. In this role, you will lead TRACTION’s policy and influence agenda, transforming evidence into insights that drive communications and systemic change. You will cultivate strategic partnerships with government, philanthropy, and community stakeholders to strengthen both our impact and funding base, while positioning TRACTION as a thought leader in youth engagement, education, and mental health. Overseeing Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) frameworks, you’ll ensure data‑driven strategy and storytelling, and work collaboratively across teams to deliver compelling communications, engagement, and public affairs initiatives that amplify our vision. About You You are a strategic and values‑driven leader with a passion for social impact. With a deep understanding of youth issues, education, and the not-for-profit sector, you know how to turn evidence into advocacy and relationships into outcomes. You bring proven experience in policy, advocacy, or stakeholder engagement, ideally within the government, community, or social impact sectors. You’re a confident communicator, trusted collaborator, and skilled relationship builder, equally at home briefing government officials or working alongside frontline staff. Above all, you are driven by a belief in the potential of young people and a commitment to making their voices central to change.
