NBMLHD Community Mental Health offer a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.

Our Blue Mountains Access team is seeking to engage a qualified Clinical Psychologist in the role of a Gold Card Clinic Coordinator. The Gold Card Clinic Coordinator role supports the provision of Gold Card Clinics across the Blue Mountains. This position provides brief psychological intervention services for consumers presenting in crisis and experiencing thoughts of suicide and self-harm, strong and overwhelming emotions, problems with identity and sense of self, impulsive and self-destructive behaviour, complex trauma and challenging personality features.

This successful candidate will ensure provision of person centred brief psychological interventions for consumers in accordance with relevant professional knowledge and skills and professional/legislative standards and requirements.

What you will bring to the role:

  1. Accredited post-graduate Masters or Doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology with General Registration as Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency AHPRA (please supply registration number for verification), and endorsement in the area of Clinical Psychology.
  2. Demonstrated knowledge, skills and clinical experience in working in mental health services, the Project Air Model of Care, as well as working with families and carers.
  3. Demonstrated skills and experience in clinical psychological assessments, and case formulation of consumers with complex presentations, including consumers presenting in acute crisis, emotional and interpersonal difficulties, problems with identity and sense of self and high risk suicidal behaviour, self –harm and impulsive and self- destructive behaviour.
  4. Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team to share expert knowledge with colleagues whilst building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
  5. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, leadership and support of colleagues and health professionals.
  6. Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills both written and oral and high level, organisational, prioritisation and time management skills.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to lead the planning, implementation and evaluation of service delivery incorporating evidence based practice and research.
  8. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
