(Specialist Older Adults community Service (SOACS-MH) Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. About the Role We are looking for an experienced Social worker to join our expanding specialist older adult mental health program. The Northern Health Mental Health Division is one of the largest Mental health care providers in Melbourne. This role offers the best of both worlds, the opportunity to support a growing Social Work workforce, contribute and drive quality improvement activities as well as maintaining a clinical load. Whilst you will be based at our Northern Health Broadmeadows Site. The Grade 3 Senior Social Worker Key Clinician will participate in supporting high quality service provision, quality improvement, staff performance, wellbeing, and professional development. This role will support the development and maintenance of professional standards and knowledge brokerage in Social work, and contribute to recruitment and retention processes. This includes the provision of clinical and professional leadership in the SOACS and the wider older Adult Mental Health Programs and contributing to appropriate supervision and support provided to Social Workers in line with professional and network standards. This role is ongoing part time, 48 hours per fortnight. To be successful in this role you will have: Minimum 10 years of experience in Mental Health sector Experience in leading Mental health Social Workers and staff across multiple sites Demonstrated commitment to recovery-oriented practice and evidenced based interventions in the mental health care of older adults Demonstrated ability to provide professional leadership including the provision of supervision and consultation to staff of a mental health service Experience in service improvement and innovation with an appreciation of interdisciplinary practice Good working knowledge of NDIS, VCAT and My Aged Care options, processes and requirements High level leadership, negotiation and interpersonal skills Possesses developed self-management skills including the ability to meet tight timelines and prioritise competing demands. Able to interpret information, data and evidence to inform decision making and planning Understands the governance and legislative responsibilities of an Social Work Leader and is able to work with the Director of Allied Health, Mental health and SOACS Manager to achieve these requirements Next Steps If this opportunity sounds like the next step in your career, then we would love to hear from you.
