Albany Senior High School (SHS) is on the lookout for a highly motivated and capable Manager Corporate Services (MCS) to oversee the day‑to‑day operations of our school’s financial, human, and physical resources. This is a fulltime, fixed term Level 5 Public Service position, commencing early January, 2026. Find out more about our school by visiting or. The Role As our MCS, you’ll work closely with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team to support the strategic direction of the school. You’ll ideally lead critical business functions and help ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. This is your chance to make a real and lasting impact on our school community. You should be an integral member of the school’s leadership team, contributing to innovative planning, operational excellence, and positive change across our school community. We’re looking for someone who’s not just great with systems and processes, but also enjoys building strong, collaborative relationships and has outstanding interpersonal skills. Key Areas of Responsibility include: Human Resources : Lead and manage all school support staff, including recruitment, induction, performance development, and workforce planning. Your leadership will ideally empower teams to align with the school’s strategic goals. Financial Management : Oversee financial planning, budgeting, procurement, and reporting. You should ensure financial operations are compliant, transparent, and strategically sound. Resource & Asset Management : Manage the school’s physical resources, from facilities to Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems. You will ideally have an understanding of Work health and Safety legislation and contribute to the development of business and marketing plans in partnership with the leadership team. Operational Leadership : Help lead the school’s operations and governance, with a focus on compliance, office administration systems, facilities, and workforce development. You’ll be at the heart of driving school-wide improvements and efficiency. Stakeholder Engagement : Collaborate with staff, committees, and external partners to support the delivery of strategic objectives. You’ll ideally represent the school on working groups and regional initiatives as needed. About You We’re seeking someone who brings not only professional expertise but also a proactive, solutions focused mindset. You will ideally be confident leading teams, undertaking monetary and fiscal responsibilities, and collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders. We highly value: Leadership Experience : An established competence in leading human resource and financial functions within a school setting, and the confidence to manage staff and operations effectively. Financial Skills : Albany SHS has an annual budget in excess of 13 million dollars. The successful applicant will ideally possess strong financial planning and management skills, with the ability to monitor budgets, develop plans and support high level financial decisions. Strategic Thinking : A desire to contribute to the long-term success of the school through thoughtful planning and active participation in key initiatives. Relationship Building : Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, parents, and the broader school community. Technical Know-How : An understanding of school network and operating systems including Kaartdijin / Compass, SIS, RM Finance, HRMIS, IKON, and RAMS will be viewed favourably. Work, Health and Safety : A knowledge of Work Health and Safety (WHS) policies and practices will be highly regarded, as we are committed to maintaining a safe and compliant workplace for all staff. Demonstrated high-level written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills. Demonstrated experience in the application of high-level customer service principles and practices. Demonstrated experience in effective leadership of a team. Demonstrated ability to provide high-level human resource consultancy and financial advice in the development, implementation and management of business and marketing plans. Demonstrated well developed problem solving and risk management skills, including the ability to provide innovative solutions to strategic and complex problems and issues.
