Job Description Warrah Specialist School, located on a beautiful rural property in Dural, NSW, provides individualised education for students with moderate to severe disabilities from Kindergarten to Year 12. As Australia’s only Steiner-based special needs school, we follow Rudolf Steiner’s Curative Education principles, offering a rich, therapeutic curriculum that includes woodwork, gardening, farming, arts, and life skills. We are part of Warrah, a not-for-profit organisation supporting people with disability through a range of services. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Teacher Support and Wellbeing Coordinator to join our senior leadership team in Term 1, 2026. This role is pivotal in fostering a positive, collaborative, and sustainable professional culture that enhances staff and student wellbeing, supports professional growth, and ensures high-quality teaching and learning outcomes. As a senior leader, the Teacher Support and Wellbeing Coordinator will champion staff wellbeing and professional growth, mentor teachers and teaching assistants, support school-wide wellbeing initiatives, contribute to strategic planning and curriculum development, and foster a collaborative, positive school culture aligned with Rudolf Steiner principles. Key Responsibilities Organisational Leadership Establish clear communication channels and support school administration. Collaborate on facilities, financial planning, and policy development. Ensure compliance with government legislation, NESA policies, and school procedures. Implement staff and student wellbeing initiatives, including RFF planning and wellbeing frameworks. Leadership for Wellbeing Promote a whole-school approach to student and staff wellbeing. Support teachers in positive behaviour support strategies and trauma-informed practices. Provide immediate and ongoing guidance for student wellbeing needs. Supervise teacher accreditation, ILPs, and semester reporting. Support evidence-based teaching and curriculum practices. On-Class Support Provide relief teaching and classroom support as required. Organise faculty meetings and support parent engagement when needed. Support recruitment, induction, and performance management processes. Mentor staff and foster leadership capacity across the school. Facilitate professional development and career planning. Engagement with Wider Warrah Community Participate in Warrah’s culture initiatives, including festivals and team-building activities. Demonstrate Warrah’s values of Community, Integrity, Respect, and Excellence. Desired Skills and Experience Recognised teaching qualifications and NESA Accreditation. Qualifications/experience in Specialist or Steiner Education (or commitment to training). Extensive teaching experience (5+ years) with demonstrated leadership capability, particularly in staff/student wellbeing. Experience working with children with disabilities. Strong understanding of NSW Disability Services Act and regulatory frameworks. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Police Check, Working with Children Check, and NSW Driver’s Licence. Experience in specialist or Steiner school settings. Knowledge of special education practices.
