The opportunity We are seeking a Finance Coordinator – Executive Reporting & Financial Analysis to join CSIRO’s Finance team. This role provides critical financial insights to CSIRO’s Executive, Leadership Team, and Board, supporting strategic decision-making through high-quality reporting, forecasting, and modelling. As the Finance Coordinator, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data, while contributing to the continuous improvement of financial systems and processes. You’ll work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to consolidate financial information, identify risks and opportunities, and deliver commentary that adds value to performance discussions. Your high-level duties will include: Delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, and modelling aligned with CSIRO’s strategic goals. Preparing and reviewing internal financial reports for the Executive Team and Board, including insightful performance commentary Supporting the development and implementation of improved financial processes and systems Collaborating across Finance and Research Units to consolidate forecasts, identify risks, and contribute to organisational initiatives Location: Any AUS CSIRO location considered - Hybrid/flexible working options available Salary: AU$118k – AU$127k per annum (pro rata for part-time), plus 15.4% superannuation Reference: As the successful candidate, you will bring: A tertiary qualification in accounting or finance as well as completion of the CA/CPA Program, or equivalent work experience. Knowledge and experience of Microsoft and SAP systems and processes to develop and drive a financial strategy and Executive Reporting. Demonstrated ability to prepare insightful commentary that identifies issues and recommendations with respect to financial strategy. Demonstrated ability to ensure and oversee data integrity and compliance, proactive problem identification lead and execute appropriate responses to resolve issues. Demonstrated technical knowledge and/or experience in management accounting, reporting, forecasting, budgeting in the government sector. Demonstrated ability in developing and communicating financial management advice with a proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve a high level of trust and respect to influence outcomes and communicate findings. Demonstrated ability to exercise initiative and agility in the delivery of high-quality outputs with flexibility under minimal supervision. Demonstrated ability to provide leadership, and direction for others in the team by coaching and supporting staff and fostering open communication and strong collaboration.
