The opportunity We’re looking for a hands‑on Senior Accountant to own the month‑end close, drive accuracy across the ledgers, and be a trusted commercial partner to the leadership team. You’ll improve processes, strengthen controls, and help us make faster, better decisions as we scale. What you’ll do Taking a hands‑on approach to keep financial discipline strong and provide timely, accurate insights that help our teams make smart decisions. Manage cash flow forecasting, banking, and treasury; maintain bank relationships (incl. guarantees) and optimise working capital. Own indirect tax & statutory obligations: BAS/IAS, payroll tax, superannuation, WorkCover, FBT coordination, and audit support. Oversee AP/AR and credit control, ensuring timely collections and robust supplier terms. Partner with operations on costings, inventory valuation, margin analysis, and pricing decisions. Using your solid knowledge of inventory, costing, BOM, and supply chain to support smooth and efficient operations. Guide payroll integrity and compliance; collaborate with HR on award/allowance settings (Employment Hero/KeyPay experience valued). Improve systems, controls, and reporting ; document processes and drive automation. Support lender/customer requests for light‑touch ESG metrics and funding information. Mentor a small finance team and foster a continuous‑improvement culture. What you’ll bring 5+ years’ experience, ideally in manufacturing or product‑based SMEs. Strong command of Australian accounting standards, tax, and compliance. Proven month‑end leadership, cash flow management, and balance‑sheet discipline. Commercial mindset: comfortable with costing, inventory, and margin analytics. Advanced Excel; confident with mid-tier ERPs and payroll platforms (Employment Hero/KeyPay a plus).
