Role Overview The Project Director will lead the delivery of a major Road Tunnel Project in Melbourne, ensuring the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the standard set in the Project Deed. Responsibilities Deliver the project to the schedule and cost as per the Project Deed, establishing strong project governance. Build, lead and develop a high‑performing team, delegating work and fostering growth to achieve better business outcomes. Monitor, control and manage the project budget, investigating discrepancies, forecasting costs and recommending savings where possible. Maintain audit and financial management systems. Implement and maintain control, planning and reporting systems that ensure milestones are met and demonstrate actual performance against time, cost and quality targets, accurately forecasting final outcomes. Qualifications Appropriate tertiary qualification in Engineering, Commercial or Project Management. Substantial senior project leadership experience (minimum 15 years) in major infrastructure projects, with a strong grasp of project management principles. Experience with Road Tunnel projects. Experience across all facets of procurement and delivery – civil earthworks, mechanical & electrical, plumbing and in‑ground services. Business and commercial acumen in complex, multi‑product, jurisdictionally diverse operations. Strong oral and written communication skills, including negotiation and influencing, and the ability to build effective relationships across all levels. Valid Australian driver’s licence.
