Located at Sydney’s Iconic Taronga Zoo Sydney Ongoing, Full-time position TCSA Salaried Employees Award, Clerk Grade 9/10, annual package from $146,736 to $161,698 (includes base salary $129,464 to $142,665 + plus superannuation & leave loading) Make an impact where it matters most.The Taronga Foundation (the fundraising arm of Taronga Conservation Society Australia) is looking for the next Fundraising Manager to take the Foundation to new heights In this role, you’ll lead the development and delivery of multi-channel fundraising strategies that grow sustainable revenue and deepen supporter engagement. Overseeing programs including Single Giving, Regular Giving, Zoo Parent Adoption, and Gifts in Wills, you’ll drive acquisition, retention, and income growth to support vital conservation outcomes. You’ll also lead and inspire a passionate fundraising and supporter care team, ensuring every donor feels connected to the difference they make. About the Role… Responsible for leading the design and delivery of innovative fundraising strategies that grow sustainable revenue and deepen supporter relationships. This role drives success across multiple giving programs, including single giving, regular giving, Zoo Parent Adoption and Gifts in Wills, ensuring every campaign contributes to long‑term conservation outcomes and meaningful donor experiences. Design, deliver and evaluate comprehensive annual fundraising strategies and budgets across Single Giving, Regular Giving, Zoo Parent Adoption and Gifts in Wills. Ensure strategies are evidence‑based, aligned with organisational priorities, and support the growth of sustainable long‑term revenue streams. Lead the development of innovative, data‑driven acquisition and conversion campaigns across digital, direct mail, face‑to‑face, and telemarketing channels to grow supporter numbers and increase donor lifetime value. Implement and manage initiatives to achieve or exceed annual fundraising targets, including a $5 million Gifts in Wills pledge goal. Identify and pursue opportunities for diversification and expansion of income sources to strengthen overall financial sustainability. Develop and implement targeted donor journey and retention strategies that deepen engagement, foster long‑term relationships and increase repeat and multi‑year giving across all fundraising portfolios. Manage all fundraising budgets to ensure efficient use of resources and maximum return on investment. Monitor and report on performance, providing insight and recommendations to inform ongoing decision‑making and continuous improvement. Oversee the delivery of high‑quality supporter care services that strengthen relationships and enhance the donor experience. Ensure timely, accurate, and meaningful supporter communications and stewardship activities. Provide clear direction, coaching and performance management to fundraising and supporter care team members. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability and professional growth, enabling individuals to achieve high performance and contribute to shared goals. About You… We are looking for candidates that have: Extensive experience in direct marketing or fundraising, ideally in a similar role. Proven experience in achieving revenue targets, preferably in the fundraising area, on time, within budget and within brand guidelines. Proven experience delivering cost‑effective growth and reducing attrition rates. Demonstrated ability to communicate a high level in both written and oral form, and the ability to communicate sensitively to people of all ages, financial and social backgrounds. High level of initiative and ability to work autonomously as well as part of a cohesive team. Excellent time management, organisational and planning skills.
