Product Owner – Core Services Join Commonwealth Bank as a Product Owner – Core Services. Our team is challenged to future‑proof one of Australia’s largest companies by building next‑generation technology for our customer services and products. Responsibilities As a Product Owner, you will: Operate at the vanguard of the bank’s DevSecOps transformation, creating automation through software engineering excellence. Be accountable for the availability lifecycle management of critical technical products and drive their roadmaps. Translate strategic intent into stories and tasks, leading engineers to deliver incrementally and achieve results. Collaborate with engineers, crew leads and business stakeholders to define problems as user stories and deliver measurable value. Prioritise the backlog and work with squads to execute sprints and incrementally deliver outcomes. Participate in research, evaluate data and embed continuous learning and improvement. Contribute to all stages of the product process – problem‑solution definition, design, prototyping, delivery and optimisation. We’re Interested In Hearing From People Who Work closely with engineers and crew leads to translate product vision into deliverable outcomes. Collaborate with business stakeholders and internal product teams to continually deliver value. Define problems into user stories and solutions into business value. Participate in research and evaluate data to inform decisions, embedding continuous learning. Prioritise the backlog to deliver measurable value and achieve business results. Contribute to all stages of the product process. Tech Skills & Experience Strong technical domain knowledge – extensive hands‑on experience with VMware is essential. Knowledge of IT infrastructure (server virtualisation, networking, storage). Experience building roadmaps and sprints using Jira. Programming skills in Go, Python, Java, JavaScript, and Bash scripting. Experience with data representations such as YAML, JSON, CSV. Experience with source control, configuration as code (Ansible, Terraform). Experience with CI/CD tooling such as GitHub, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and Argo CD. Interest in technical product challenges and solving customer problems. Curious mindset driving questions and exploratory learning.
