Senior Engineering Specialist (Aerodrome) Airservices Australia – Brisbane, Queensland, Australia Role Overview This is a 2‑year fixed‑term full‑time position for a Senior Engineering Specialist (Aerodrome) to join the Airservices Australia Airspace Program. The role is hybrid with flexible working conditions and will be based in Brisbane. Key Responsibilities Support the operation and maintenance of assets critical to Air Navigation Services and Aviation Rescue Fire Fighting Services. Ensure the successful delivery of the Aerodrome tower systems and their integration with VHF Automatic Dependent Broadcast System (ADS‑B) as part of the Enterprise Network Modernisation Program. Provide technical and operational guidance to the project team, including technical readiness of operational systems, advice for decision making, dependency identification, stakeholder engagement and development of technical project artefacts. Apply Airservices engineering processes, frameworks and governance standards to manage technical scope. Act as Project Technical Lead (PTL) for the Ballina Enhanced Services Program in conjunction with the Enterprise Network Modernisation Program PTL. Maintain a clear understanding of Enterprise Asset Management Framework (EAMF), Technical Management System (TMS) and Safety Management System (SMS) procedures. Qualifications & Experience Completion of a tertiary qualification in Engineering and eligibility for registration as a Professional Engineer (e.g., RPEQ). Significant experience applying Systems Engineering processes to complex systems across multiple industries. Experience engaging diverse internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated values‑based behaviours supporting organisational capability and culture. Excellent oral and written communication skills, able to work independently or in team environments. Previous experience with aviation Safety Management Systems (desirable). Sound understanding of Civil Aviation Safety Regulations Parts 171 and 172 (desirable).
