Fixed Term Contract • 2026 Clinical Year • Unaccredited Trainee – Medicine Overview Northern Beaches Hospital provides world-class, Level 5 delineation services for both public and private patients. The hospital features 486 beds, a 50-bed Emergency Department, a 20-bed general and cardiothoracic ICU, 14 fully equipped theatres (including hybrid theatres), two cardiac catheter labs and four procedure rooms, and a state-of-the-art education and interactive SIM centre. About The Department The Department of Adult Medicine comprises subspecialties including Aged Care, Infectious Diseases, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Oncology, General Medicine, Neurology, Respiratory, Haematology, Palliative Care and Cardiology. Doctors who join our motivated and dynamic services will have the opportunity to gain experience in dealing with complex cardiac and cardiothoracic patients. The campus has two catheter labs, 14 theatres, a 20-bed ICU and an advanced coronary care unit. All sub-specialties have active areas of research and our mentoring program aims to motivate, direct, encourage and nurture our trainees towards their career goals and aspirations. Your Role The Medicine – Unaccredited Trainee clinical year consists of clinical rotations in Medicine and Relief, with opportunities for terms in Cardiology, Aged Care, General Medicine and MAU, and potentially other specialties. There is an expectation that this position will contribute to after-hours rosters and will include participation in Hospital-at-Night cover in the Division of Medicine. Your primary role is to provide medical care in conjunction with the various specialists and admitting medical officers for patients in Medicine and other areas within the hospital to secure optimum health outcomes. Your Capabilities To be successful in this role you will meet the following selection criteria: Hold a medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) and be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Demonstrated clinical practice as a registered medical practitioner for a minimum of three years with progress towards career goals in Medicine Demonstrated clinical competency and an ability to work independently within a supervised complex clinical environment utilising excellent clinical skills, judgment and expertise Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management and evidence of sound working knowledge of legal and ethical obligations governing medical practice Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, time management and problem solving skills in the clinical setting as part of a multidisciplinary team If you have any questions about this opportunity, please contact the Medical Workforce Unit at If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary relevant to your clinical experience ranging from $111,606 - $140,051 per annum.
