Introducing the Nepean Adolescent Mental Health Unit (NAHMU), a fresh, purpose built 10-bed facility dedicated to supporting adolescents aged 12 to 17 who are navigating complex and severe mental health challenges. This state-of-the-art inpatient unit is the newest chapter in the Child, Youth and Family Mental Health (CYFMH) story, expanding its reach to provide compassionate, specialised care from the earliest stages of life through to young adulthood. The NAHMU Ward Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of ward activities and patient management. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality administrative support, including reception duties, medical record management, and precise data entry of all patient ward transactions using the Hospital’s Patient Administration System (PAS). With a focus on accuracy, clear communication, and seamless coordination between staff, patients, and visitors, this role is central to maintaining effective ward processes and contributing to the delivery of youth-centred, high-quality healthcare. What you will bring to the role Demonstrated clerical and customer service experience with the ability to work under minimal supervision. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of confidentiality and privacy including ability to always maintain confidentiality. Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated excellent organisational and time management skills. Demonstrated experience using Windows-based software including databases and experience in using MS Word and Excel with proven typing skills. Demonstrated ability and commitment to be flexible and adaptable to workplace change and problem solve within delegation. Ability to work cooperatively and flexibly within a Multidisciplinary team of Clinicians, Allied Health, and Administrative staff. Commitment to fostering positive working relationships that support patient-centered care. Current Driver's License and willingness to use for work purpose travel.
