Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Associate Nurse Unit Managers to join the Emergency Department team. This is a Full Time, Fixed Term position, covering a Maternity Leave. Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub‑acute, mental health, specialist, community and home‑based services in Melbourne’s rapidly growing outer north. Services are provided through our six main campuses : Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg. About the Role The Emergency Department Associate Nurse is a Registered Nurse who demonstrates expert knowledge and skills in critical care whilst assuming a prominent management and staff focus within the unit. The ANUM is an integral member of the department management team, assisting the NUM & CNUM in the course of their duties to ensure efficient operation of the clinical environment. The ANUM manages the nursing/midwifery and related resources available to the department, sets the clinical standards to achieve a high quality of nursing/midwifery care and fosters and maintains a working environment which provides professional development and job satisfaction for all staff. The ANUM is also responsible for ensuring all patients are managed in accordance with Emergency Access Target Key Performance Indicators mandated by the DHHS and Northern Health and assumes the responsibilities and authority of the NUM/CNUM in their absence and as such must have knowledge of the administrative operation of the department and, when appropriate, be involved in the delivery of direct patient care.
