About Us

Nepean Hospital is a teaching hospital that provides tertiary referral services in emergency care, coronary care, diagnostics, gynaecology, paediatric, neonatal intensive care/ICU, maternity, mental health, rehabilitation, and surgery. The Nepean Campus has recently experienced tremendous growth and aims to support communities within and outside of Sydney’s western suburbs, providing world-class clinical facilities, services, and care.
A fabulous opportunity is available to join the team at Nepean in Midwifery-at-Home. The successful candidate will ensure optimal outcomes for women and their families of the service through the promotion of best practice including the appropriate escalation of care. This position works collaboratively utilising effective team communication with members of the multidisciplinary health team in the planning, implementation, assessment and evaluation of patient care.
The Registered Midwife acts as an advocate for the specific needs of all women and their families including those from the indigenous population or other multi-cultural groups providing appropriate care to the woman undergoing specialised procedures. You will endeavour to maintain and promote a professional standard evidenced by ethical midwifery practice, adherence to the policies and procedures of the Nursing and Midwifery Service, NMBLHD and the appropriate legislation and statutory regulations.

What you will bring to the role :
- Current registration with AHPRA Registered Midwife (division 1)
- Demonstrated recent experience and clinical skill in midwifery
- Demonstrated ability to organise and prioritise work
- Demonstrated evidence of being able to provide woman centred care
- Demonstrated effective communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development
- Ability to work day shift across all days of the week according to the unit/service requirements and possess a Current NSW State driver's licence (including P1 or above) and willingness to use for work purposes. This may include driving long distances across the LHD.
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team environment
Employment of a temporary visa holder may only occur if no suitable permanent resident or citizen of Australia has been identified and must not exceed the duration or conditions associated with the current visa.
