About the Role The Philanthropy Officer plays a key role in nurturing and growing relationships with a community of committed supporters. This newly created position suits an early‑career fundraiser seeking to develop skills in donor stewardship and build a career in philanthropy . Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, the role is responsible for managing a portfolio of mid‑level and gifts‑in‑wills supporters , building meaningful relationships with passionate supporters who wish to make a lasting impact through their giving. What You’ll Do Build and nurture relationships with a portfolio of donors through personalised communication across mail, phone, email, and digital channels. Support the planning and delivery of appeals, donor journeys, thank‑you letters, proposals and impact updates. Assist with coordinating donor events. Contribute to the bequest program by working closely with executors, solicitors, and family members. Maintain accurate supporter information and program data in the CRM. Conduct research into small trusts and foundations and assist with preparing grant submissions. Work closely with the Philanthropy Manager to deliver fundraising targets and strengthen donor relationships. About You You’re a warm and thoughtful communicator who enjoys connecting with people and making them feel valued . You bring a curious, proactive approach and are eager to learn more about philanthropy. A passion for charities working across social justice, education, community and international development. 1–2 years’ experience in fundraising, supporter care, or a relationship‑focused role. Excellent written communication skills and strong attention to detail. Highly developed interpersonal skills, with a genuine interest in understanding supporter motivations and building meaningful relationships. Strong organisational and time management skills.
