WNSWLHD Staff Specialist / Visiting Medical Officer Paediatrician — Temporary Part Time (0.4 FTE) to 30 June — Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub Employment Type : Temporary Part Time (0.4 FTE) to 30 June Position Classification : Staff Specialist / Visiting Medical Officer Remuneration : $186,241 – $229,825 per annum (as per VMO Sessional Determination) Hours per Week : 16 hours per week Location : Negotiable Applications Close : 7 December About The Opportunity At the Medicare Mental Health Kids Hub you'll be pivotal in providing high-quality Paediatric services in a newly established multidisciplinary program for children aged 0 to 12 experiencing mild to moderate emotional, social and behavioural health challenges. You’ll provide expert clinical consultation and coordination to the Kids Hub team and external healthcare providers, utilizing an integrated child-centred and family-focused approach, promoting advanced clinical practice for children and their carers. The role is dynamic – involving all aspects of community clinical practice from assessments, formulation and oversight of treatment programs, to the provision of expert guidance to the multidisciplinary team and other healthcare providers. Where You'll Be Working You’ll be working in a community setting with a multidisciplinary team, delivering family-focused support to children aged 0–12 years experiencing mild to moderate mental health and well‑being issues. You’ll have a flexible practice environment, adaptive interventions, and a skilled multidisciplinary team and engaged external providers. Selection Criteria Evidence of registration with the Medical Board of Australia, Fellowship of the RANZCP or equivalent and subspecialty training and relevant qualification, experience and competency in Paediatrics. Experience providing clinical services to children with mild to moderate mental health and/or developmental concerns. Understanding of current and emerging issues in assessment and management of child and family mental health, developmental and well‑being issues in a community setting. Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team displaying effective communication and interpersonal skills across relevant modes of communication including electronic systems. Commitment to clinical capacity building, continuing education, research and quality improvement. Professional knowledge and judgement to provide specialised care and support for children and families with mental health and well‑being concerns. Work within a clinical governance structure and practice utilising relevant policies, protocols and legislative frameworks.
