Job Satisfaction – Have a meaningful impact on the community to achieve positive outcomes across the Mornington Peninsula Shire About the Role As an Adult Mental Health worker, you would join our Enhanced Maternal and Child Health (EMCH) team to make a real difference by providing targeted support to strengthen family functioning where adult mental health challenges have been identified. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment and values flexibility and responsiveness to client needs. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to adapt and build positive relationships. Reporting to the Enhanced MCH Coordinator the core responsibilities include: Conduct Mental Health Assessments Use professional clinical judgment to assess adult mental health needs, liaising with the EMCH Coordinator to ensure timely referral pathways to community, hospital, or crisis mental health services. Develop and Implement Care Plans Create tailored, strength-based Child and Family Action Plans that address family needs and promote recovery and resilience. Provide Short-Term Early Support Deliver targeted support to parents and caregivers, focusing on improving family functioning and wellbeing. Collaborate effectively with colleagues in the EMCH program and Child & Family Health service, and work in partnership with external agencies to deliver integrated care for families. About You Education & Experience Relevant Degree in Mental Health, Family Therapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work. Experience in working with families with diverse and complex needs. Proven ability to provide short-term parental support. Experience as an Adult Mental Health Practitioner with ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing. Competent computer skills and ability to learn new IT systems.
