Maintenance Supervisor

Key Accountabilities Lead and support the maintenance team, fostering a positive, collaborative and high-performing work environment. Promote a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety requirements, identifying hazards and encouraging safe work practices. Plan, coordinate and complete scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities efficiently, safely and to a high standard. Manage labour, contractors, tools and materials effectively to meet operational needs while controlling costs. Monitor equipment performance and implement initiatives to improve reliability, reduce downtime and enhance overall maintenance processes. Maintain accurate, up-to-date records of all maintenance activities in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to support informed decision‑making. Ensure the workshop remains clean, organised and compliant with all procedures and safety requirements. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external contractors to ensure smooth and effective maintenance operations. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Tertiary engineering qualification or an advanced trade qualification in a mechanical or electrical discipline. Minimum five years’ experience in maintenance management, ideally within heavy equipment workshops or automated machinery environments. Proven leadership experience in large, complex operations, including working within unionised environments. Strong understanding of Occupational Health and Safety legislation, risk management processes and safe work practices. High level of technical knowledge across heavy plant and equipment, along with strong computer literacy and experience using maintenance management systems. Excellent communication, problem‑solving and stakeholder relationship‑building skills, with the ability to make sound operational decisions and drive continuous improvement.
