Geelong Site Coordinator - emotion21 dance and fitness class emotion21 is a program of Inclusion Foundation, a not-for-profit organisation that provides innovative programs in dance and fitness for children and young adults with Down syndrome. emotion21, through dance, fitness, education and capacity building programs, enhances lives and changes perceptions of Down syndrome and intellectual disability within society. The Site Coordinator is the face of emotion21 at the local site. The purpose of the Site Coordinator is to meet and greet families upon arrival, manage queries or issues, complete a weekly survey to communicate with head office and support teaching staff, dancers and families as required. Role Overview Key responsibilities: Culture setter – leading by example and creating welcoming space and interactions between movers, key support people, participants and teachers to reflect the emotion21 values. Communication specialist – regularly communicating key information to the emotion21 office on a timely basis to support continuous improvement and ensuring compliance. Cooperation coach – encouraging full participation from the site for key events happening in the emotion21 calendar. Key Tasks Engage with teachers and movers each week at class and make them feel valued and part of the community. Work with the teacher to ensure the venue is ready, with all equipment/property secured, ensure all venue guidelines are adhered to and coordinate return of lost property where possible. Engage with key support people in each class. Train movers to communicate any changes to their commitment to Program Manager. Maintain compliance and create awareness of e.motion21 policy and procedures – code of conduct, confidentiality, incident reporting, emergency exit process/response, health and safety, etc. – with participants, key support people and movers. Work with the teacher to ensure and promote all health and safety regulations are followed and safe‑working practices are observed. Provide emergency management support to teachers where necessary. Support teachers when requested and participate in the end of class debrief session. Where possible, participate in site coordinator & teacher team meetings and training. In consultation, at the beginning of term 4, plan for your site’s end of year celebration. Qualifications There are no pre‑requisite qualifications for this position, we are seeking a team player who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with Down syndrome and their families. All volunteers are required to have, or be willing to obtain, a current Volunteer NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check. Category Disability Services Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type Of Work Companionship & Social Support, Disability Support, Music & Entertainment, Sport & Physical Activity Time Required This would be for one evening per week, during school terms, from approx. 5:45pm - 8:00pm.
