Graphic Designer / Artist (Part Time, 3 days pw) Post-graduate, entry-level opportunity at Cinema Nova; Melbourne's favourite independent cinema. Graphic Designer / Graphic Artist with exceptional attention to detail and a capacity to work quickly to fixed weekly deadlines is sought to join Cinema Nova's existing publicity team. Using Adobe software, the successful applicant will work part time with an established and highly regarded team to create weekly, monthly and annual assets that communicate our wide selection of feature films and events through our website and digital portals. Additionally, printed materials distributed on-site and across the city should meet (or, ideally, exceed) internal style guides and priorities as well as industry requirements. Existing templates will be utilised at first but fresh ideas and dynamism are welcome. A passion for cinema as well as a gift for crafting eye‑catching communications for a wide audience will be well regarded in the selection process. Cinema Nova is Australia's most popular independent cinema, providing Melbourne moviegoers with an unmatched selection of cinema events for over three decades. Based in cosmopolitan Lygon Street in Carlton, the role is based on‑site with stakeholders also located at the venue. Working within an enthusiastic team, perks include free movies as well as discounts at the Candy Bar and Cinema Nova Bar. Key Responsibilities Website and point of sale assets utilising existing materials provided by our distribution partners Preparation of weekly materials for distribution on site and across Melbourne Creation of bespoke flyers and related materials for movie releases and cinema events About You A highly creative designer with strong visual storytelling and editing skills Skilled in balancing creativity with deadline specific objectives A self‑starter who takes initiative and thrives in a fast‑paced environment Receptive to feedback, with excellent attention to detail Must possess Australian work rights to be eligible for this position Qualifications & Skills Intermediate level proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and InDesign is required. A minimum of 6-12 months of demonstrated or on‑the‑job experience in graphic design is required. Excellent time management and organisational skills Tertiary qualification in design, marketing, or related field Role is 3 days per week, or comparable hours.
