Food Safety and Quality Assessor (12 Months Maternity Leave cover) Turosi Pty Ltd is a privately owned company with facilities in Victoria, QLD and NSW, providing a full range of raw and cooked food solutions across a range of proteins to the retail and food service sectors. We are one of the largest poultry processors in Australia, supplying major brands across QSR/FCD, General Trade & Retail markets. We are seeking to hire a motivated candidate to join the Food Safety and Quality team as an Assessor for a 12‑month contract. About Us This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive quality initiatives, ensure compliance with industry regulations, and collaborate across departments to enhance operational excellence. We supply many of Australia's major food services and have multiple food categories in our large‑scale FMCG business. About the role We are seeking a determined Food Safety Assessor to join our team on site in Broadmeadows. This is a 12‑month fixed‑term role and will play a pivotal part in managing quality systems, conducting audits, and leading improvements in quality and food safety protocols. You will be supported by an experienced team and site management to empower and grow both personally and professionally. Key Responsibilities Drive the sensory program against multiple protein categories of products Support in maintaining site compliance against the company’s QMS Support QC staff to monitor daily GMP and housekeeping and report findings to implement short‑term and long‑term action plans Support FSQ Coordinators in investigating customer complaints and creating final responses Support in maintaining customer complaint and NCR databases and verify corrective actions Support in maintaining HACCP pre‑requisite programs Review, update, or create quality SOPs and WIs within operation functions Review and update current company policies and procedures Oversee production and manufacturing quality procedures Maintain product and environmental testing program Offer quality training, create training manuals, quality guidelines, and workflow diagrams to maintain quality efficiencies and share knowledge Conduct new staff and site refresher training – we support you through this Provide line training for operations staff on QMS‑related activities Liaise with approved suppliers and service providers to obtain compliance certificates and maintain registers What we're looking for Attitude – if you’re willing to learn, we’re willing to teach and support Time flexible – this role requires dynamic start times pending site operational requirements and some rotational weekend work Experience in HACCP, management systems, internal & external auditing, knowledge of BRC or customer standards is highly regarded Strong written and verbal communication skills – this role engages with many of the site’s key stakeholders Proficient MS Office literacy – Excel knowledge is highly regarded Tertiary qualifications in Food Science & Technology (or Equivalent) – desirable Minimum 1‑year experience in Quality in the food processing industry – desirable #J-18808-Ljbffr
