Senior Data Architect – Cloud, Governance & Integration Location: Sydney, Australia Job type: Fixed Term Contract Job Role Overview: Senior Data Architect responsible for designing and developing data architecture, including scalable, secure, and efficient data models, data integration, governance, performance optimization and documentation. Responsibilities Designing and Developing Data Architecture: creating scalable, secure, and efficient data models and frameworks that align with business objectives. Data Integration and Governance: implementing data governance policies, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, maintaining data quality and security. Working closely with business stakeholders, analysts, and developers to translate business needs into technical solutions. Performance Optimization: evaluating existing systems, identifying areas for improvement, and optimizing data pipelines for speed and scalability. Documentation: maintaining data dictionaries, architecture diagrams, and standards. Key Skills & Qualifications Technical expertise in data modeling (conceptual, logical, and physical), database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, Data Warehousing), and cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP). Proficiency in ETL/ELT tools and big data frameworks such as Spark and Hadoop. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer, AWS Certified Developer, and Databricks Certified Data Engineer. Exposure to AI/ML skills desirable. Experience building pipelines, using event‑based triggers, and ensuring seamless data flow. Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
