About the role The Community Rehabilitation Program provides a short-term goal based interdisciplinary rehabilitation program for clients to optimise their functional abilities and independence in the home or community setting. The program operates out of 4 Eastern Health sites (Angliss, Peter James, Wantirna and Lilydale). This role will be predominantly based out of the Peter James Centre. This position will be aligned to the neurological stream in the Peter James Community Rehabilitation Program, and with the Eastern Health Physiotherapy team. This role will provide opportunities for participation in regular professional development, development of clinical supervision skills, exposure to aquatic physiotherapy and engagement in research and continuous improvement opportunities with support from senior clinicians. The position is supported by regular clinical supervision with a senior clinician physiotherapist, and access to support with the Community Rehabilitation Program leadership team. We are seeking an applicant who demonstrates excellent prioritisation, time management, and communication skills, along with a strong commitment to their own professional growth and the ongoing development of our service. As a key leader within our team, we are seeking an applicant with a commitment to providing high quality person-centred care aligned with evidence-based practice. In this role, you will provide supervision and mentorship to Grade 1 rotating physiotherapists, in addition to Allied Health Assistants and physiotherapy students as required. We're looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful, and innovative team player who thrives in a dynamic environment and leads by example. About you To be successful in this role you will possess: Advanced clinical skills in managing a complex neurological caseload and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentation Previous clinical experience working in an aligned clinical environment High level communication skills, both written and oral Demonstrated capacity to work / show leadership in a multidisciplinary team Experience in supervision of staff and/or students Demonstrated ability, knowledge and experience to lead the professional development of others Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice. Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities. An interest and commitment to leading the aquatic physiotherapy program Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
