Information Technology Field Technician

Head of Information Technology | CCNA, MCSA, ITIL Geeks Brisbane is growing, and we’re looking for a hands‑on IT Field Technician to support our clients across Brisbane. You’ll be based in the Brisbane CBD with frequent travel to client sites. If you’re the go‑to person for end‑user computing, laptop repairs, and small business networking (with a soft spot for UniFi), this is your kind of role. What You’ll Do Provide on‑site and remote IT support for end users (Windows/macOS, Office 365, peripherals) Diagnose and repair laptops and desktops: hardware swaps, component testing, rebuilds Perform screen replacements and other device repairs with care and precision Set up and configure networking gear: routers, switches, access points, basic firewalls Deploy and maintain UniFi environments (Controller setup, AP adoption, VLANs, guest networks) Handle ticketing, documentation, and client communication with clear, friendly updates Coordinate parts, RMAs, and warranty processes; keep inventory tidy and accurate ✅ What You’ll Need Own vehicle and valid driver’s licence (required; role involves regular travel) Proven IT EUC support experience (2+ years ideal) Strong laptop/desktop hardware repair skills (diagnostics, parts replacement) Demonstrated screen replacement experience (highly regarded) Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DHCP/DNS, NAT, Wi‑Fi standards, basic VLANs Practical setup/config of routers and access points; UniFi experience (highly preferred) Familiarity with ticketing systems and structured documentation Excellent customer service—calm under pressure, clear communicator Nice to Have Exposure to MDM/EDR tools (e.g., Intune, Jamf, CrowdStrike) Basic scripting or automation (PowerShell, bash) for repeatable tasks SMB stack knowledge: Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Azure AD/Entra ID IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, UniFi/Ubiquiti, Microsoft) Location, Hours & Perks Brisbane CBD–based with daily travel to client sites across Brisbane Full‑time position; occasional after‑hours work may be required Vehicle allowance or mileage reimbursement, phone/tech allowance, tools where applicable Supportive, technician‑led culture with real autonomy and variety in your day Training support for UniFi and relevant certifications Seniority level Entry level Employment type Part‑time Job function Information Technology Industries IT Services and IT Consulting Referrals increase your chances of interviewing at Geeks Brisbane by 2x Get notified about new Information Technology Field Technician jobs in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia . #J-18808-Ljbffr
