Remuneration and Details Salary: $109,157 to $118,193 pa (HEW6) – inclusive of $92,239 to $99,875 salary plus 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading Employment type: Full-time (ongoing) Location: Gardens Point Reference number: 25664 Open to: Current staff of QUT with full‑time work rights in Australia; Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people not presently employed by QUT are also encouraged to apply. The Senior Technician, Client Technology will provide high‑value, client‑facing support across QUT’s staff and student environments, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining IT inventory records, developing knowledge guides, and supporting digital transformation initiatives. Responsibilities Provide expert support for Windows, macOS, and Unix operating systems, and a diverse software catalogue. Manage audio‑visual, classroom, and teaching & learning technologies. Maintain and improve IT inventory in the CMDB. Develop and maintain Knowledge and How‑To guides. Coordinate small digital projects and continual service improvement initiatives. Communicate with clients, identify and document requirements, and foster a client‑centric culture. Provide training and guidance to staff and students. Support digital transformation and improve digital literacy across the university. Maintain a proactive technology fleet strategy, implementing preventive solutions. Contribute to a positive team culture, knowledge sharing, and documentation of support processes. Qualifications Education and experience equivalent to a degree in an IT‑related field and subsequent relevant experience. Demonstrated experience supporting Windows, macOS, and Unix operating systems and a diverse software catalogue. Experience with audio‑visual, classroom, and teaching & learning technologies. Strong client‑centric approach, excellent problem‑solving, and communication skills. Experience coordinating small IT projects and service improvement initiatives. Strong understanding of ITIL processes and documentation. Ability to develop engaging Knowledge and How‑To guides to enhance user understanding.
