Creative Director Gold Coast QLD onsite 4 days per week ( WFH one day per week) Looking for a talented and seasoned Creative Director to guide the world class XR game development in our growing XR studio. Family owned studio located in Burleigh Heads in sunny Queensland Australia. Specialise in VR games, including 2 successful published titles. About The Creative Director Role This Creative Director is pivotal to the studio's success as you’ll create, communicate and guide the vision and direction for new titles and existing title upgrades. As a member of the Executive Leadership team, you’ll be able to smoothly communicate with the design, art, animation and development team ensuring the vision is brought to life in a commercially effective way. Specifically you’ll : Develop and communicate a clear and compelling creative vision for new and existing XR game / title projects that align with our studio’s values and industry and market trends Oversee Game Design, Artistic Direction and Concept Development ensuring the game is developed in a cohesive way ensuring the vision is accurately brought to life while project deadlines are achieved to meet commercial requirements Inspire and influence the development teams through your excellent upfront communication of your vision and by fostering a collaborative environment where you remain open to your vision being built on and improved through ideas and input from the team. Roll your sleeves up and support game development in a hands‑on way including content creation (character design, level design, asset creation etc) to meet deadlines and ensure a high-quality game is produced Collaborate with producers for project management support , sharing your expertise to guide timelines and production schedules. Hold ultimate responsibility for a high quality standard of XR game development that is immersive, bug‑free and exceeds player expectations. Support the mission to position the studio as an industry leader by staying abreast of emerging technologies, trends, opportunities and ways to make our games different and better. Be a proud representation of our studio brand at conferences and with external stakeholders to support visibility, studio profile, funding opportunities etc. More About You You have 5+ years of proven creative leadership experience within the gaming industry with a strong portfolio of creating successful games supported by a degree or similar qualification in a related field (eg Game Design, Fine Arts, Animation) or equivalent You have strong proficiency in VR development tools (Unity and / or Unreal Engine) and a passion for gaming plus deep understanding of the gaming industry You are an out of the box thinker, an incredible problem solver with excellent time management skills You have a bias towards action and you work the perfect balance between innovation, flexibility and commerciality.
