Hepatitis B Clinical Nurse Consultant – NSW Health Role Summary A temporary part‑time Clinical Nurse Consultant who will assess, manage, educate and monitor patients with chronic Hepatitis B infection (CHB) and its complications. Where You’ll Be Working The Hepatology Service provides a clinical service for patients, education and telemedicine advice for referring medical practitioners and health care workers. The service has developed an integrated framework with other NSW Health stakeholders, including primary health networks, population health and primary community health (Drug & Alcohol services, HARP, Sexual health, Harm immunisation/needle exchange) and NSW Health Indigenous health services. What You’ll Be Doing Comprehensive assessment, management, education and monitoring of patients with chronic Hepatitis B and related complications. Provide leadership, advice and recommendations on all aspects of nursing practice within the multidisciplinary framework. Formulate and implement policy, guide practice development, and engage in education and research activities. Provide clinical supervision to nursing staff and act as a role model while providing direct nursing care. Develop and deliver HBV screening and prevention strategies, clinical assessment and treatment programmes, complication screening and management programmes, special population programmes, and education programmes for primary health networks and health care workers. Qualifications & Experience Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. Minimum five years full‑time postgraduate experience, including three years full‑time equivalent in the specialty field. Approved postgraduate qualification (minimum Graduate Diploma/Certificate level) or evidence of working towards a Masters level qualification. Demonstrated clinical leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework. Strong communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums and an understanding of the practice development framework. Ability to undertake quality improvement and research activities that influence and enhance clinical practice and implement change. Ability to work effectively both as part of a multidisciplinary team and independently. Additional Information People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.
